I find it helps considerably to have a calendar on hand to keep track of moon cycles and the days for holidays. I also jot down notes for things like weather, astrological phases, and anything else that’s pertinent.
Google Calendar– I use Google calendar for lots of scheduling, and I was delighted to find it includes moon phases. Once you sign up with a calendar, go to Settings>Calendar (tab)> Select Browse Interesting Calendars> Select Phases of the Moon.
Pagan Calendar.co.uk also provides a terrific resources to view a calendar, as well as sabbat information and moon phases.
Here’s a 2012 Moon calendar PDF file you can print and add to your Book of Shadows. Its in list format.
Getting a calendar or date book that already includes this sort of information such as astrological information, moon phases, and sabbats can be found in Llewellyn’s 2013 Witches’ Datebook (2013).
At the end of the year, I will clean out the Book of Shadows of the calendars and store them somewhere else, adding a new calendar for the new year.
